Job Description: Assistant League Coordinator and Referee Assignor
Overview
Prince Edward Island Soccer (PEI Soccer) is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual for the position of Assistant League Coordinator and Referee Assignor for the summer 2026 season. This is a 16-week position open to students pursuing post secondary education, starting in May 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the PEI Soccer leagues.
Position Details

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant League Coordinator and Referee Assignor will be responsible for the following duties:
- League Management Software (RAMP) Administration:
- Entering and maintaining league schedules, team rosters, and other relevant information within the RAMP league management software.
- Validating game scores and updating league standings in the system to ensure accuracy.
- Referee Assignment:
- Assigning referees to scheduled matches using the League Management software.
- Working with the League and Referee Coordinator to ensure appropriate coverage for all games.
- Communication:
- Communicating any league schedule changes, cancellations, or updates promptly to clubs and coaches via email and/or other designated channels.
- Playoff Coordination:
- Coordinating the end-of-season playoffs for all divisions U13 and above. This includes scheduling games and communicating with participating teams.
Qualifications
Technical & Administrative Skills
- Experience working with league management platforms (RAMP or similar scheduling/registration systems).
- Strong data-entry accuracy and attention to detail when managing schedules, rosters, scores, and standings.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and troubleshoot basic system issues.
- Proficiency with email communication tools and standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).
League & Referee Operations
- Understanding of soccer league structures, scheduling processes, and match operations.
- Familiarity with referee assigning practices, referee pathways, or match official development (an asset but not required).
- Ability to coordinate multiple divisions and age groups simultaneously, especially during playoff planning.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clubs, coaches, referees, and volunteers.
- Ability to manage schedule changes, cancellations, and updates in a timely and organized manner.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with the League Coordinator, Referee Coordinator, and other staff.
Organizational & Time-Management Skills
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines during peak season.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and track multiple moving parts.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining alignment with league policies and procedures.
Personal Attributes
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting a positive soccer experience for players, coaches, and officials.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to unexpected changes (weather, field availability, referee shortages, etc.).
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
Experience & Background
- Previous experience in sport administration, event coordination, or league operations is an asset.
- Knowledge of soccer rules, competition formats, and match-day requirements is beneficial.
- Experience working with youth sport organizations or volunteer-driven environments is considered an advantage
